Sociables is another common name for Kings, a drinking card game best played with 4-10 friends. The game starts by placing an entire deck of cards (no jokers) face-down in the middle of the table. Players take turns going around the table and drawing a card. That player must  follow the rule associated with the card until the deck is empty.

Common Rules:

Make a Rule

Create a rule that all the players must obey until the deck is empty. For example “no names”, “no pointing”, “no shirts”…get creative or view our rule suggestions!

Give Two

Hand out two drinks to person(s) of your choice. You may split them up or assign to one person.

Give Three

Hand out three drinks to person(s) of your choice. You may split them up or assign to one person.

Person that flips says one word then the next person says that word and adds another, the following person must repeat the previous said words (in order of how they were said) and add their own word. This continues until someone can’t remember the words correctly and messes up the sentence and said person must drink

Any players with a pecker must take a drink.

Any players with boobs must take a drink.

All players must point toward the sky. The last player to point must drink.

The player who drew this card must drink.

The player who drew this card selects someone who then must drink.

Thumb Master

The player who picks this card can place their thumb anywhere at any time and the last player to notice and place their thumb in the same position must drink. For example if you place your thumb on the person to your lefts’ nose then all players must place their thumb on the nose of the player to the left. The last person to do this must drink.

Rhyme Time

The player who drew the nine says a phrase, then the players go around in the circle saying phrases that rhyme with the original. No phrase may be said twice, the first player who can not come up with a phrase, or says a phrase that doesn’t rhyme must drink.

The player who drew the card picks a category such as sports teams or bands from the ’90s, the players then go around in the circle saying items from that category; the first player who can not think of an item or says something not in the category (or if all items have been exhausted) must drink.

Everyone playing must cheers and have a drink!

The only difference between King’s Cup & Sociables is that one of the cards (usually King) must be Sociable, a card that makes every player have a drink. The other rules can be whatever you like, but here are some common rules. If you would like to mix it up the rules, here’s a list of games using the Sociable card.
